Billy Collins, DHSc, PA-C

Commander (CDR) Billy Collins, DHSc, PA-C is a commissioned officer within the U.S. Public Health Service. He is currently serving as Associate Investigator and Clinic Director within the National Heart, Lung, Blood Institute at NIH. CDR Collins served as Site Director of Research for the Defense & Veterans Brain Injury Center at Fort Bragg, NC where he also functioned as a Principal Investigator and member of the Womack Army Medical Center Institutional Review Board.
Billy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Care from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas and his Master of Science degree in PA studies at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He received a Doctorate of Health Sciences degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Susan Symington, MPAS, PA-C, DFAAPA
Susan has been a clinically practicing and certified PA for over 25 years. She has practiced clinically in a wide variety of settings including Family Medicine, Urgent Care/Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, Allergy Asthma and Immunology, and Adult Pulmonary. She has taught in three PA Programs full-time. She was an Assistant Professor at Grand Valley State University and Midwestern University (Glendale, AZ campus) and also an Associate Professor and the Associate Program Director at the University of Washington’s MEDEX Northwest PA Program. She has been a national speaker for PA and NP CME (Continuing Medical Education) conferences for 10 years and has published in peer reviewed PA and NP journals on topics related to Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. She has been involved with the AAPA for over ten years in different capacities. She is the Immediate Past President for the Association for PAs in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and served as the AAPA’s medical liaison to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology organization. She has served on the AAPA’s Commission on Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development. Currently, she serves as a trustee for the PA Foundation board of directors.
In 2017, She joined AstraZeneca US Respiratory Medical Affairs as a Respiratory Clinical Science Liaison (CSL). She covered the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Alaska, Oregon and Idaho) and in May, 2019, joined the Cardiovascular Metabolic Disease team as a CSL for the Arizona, New Mexico territory. In July, 2020, Susan joined Genentech Medical Affairs as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Hematology/Rare Blood Disorders/Hemophilia. Entering her fourth year as a science liaison, Susan is the person between the company and the health care provider, who develops relationships and becomes an expert in disease states. She is also an expert in the clinical trials related to the products in development or already FDA approved. She interprets the data from the clinical trials to educate providers on the right patient for the product based on the scientific evidence. She also establishes sites to be involved in clinical trials and gains insights from different stakeholders and organizations. Susan has two adult children who live in Tucson, Arizona. She enjoys spending time with them and also her new puppy, Lily, a white lab. In her spare time she enjoys music, theater, watching sports, and exercising.
